Nigel High School

To any reader

On Monday 3 May 2010 Nigel High School had the privilage to host Justin and Jacques from the "Freedom Recovery Centre" in Nigel. From the beginning the message to the learners was clear. Justin used his own life as an example of what can go wrong when using drugs from a young age, this made a huge impression on the learners.
Jacques' testimony on how he used to drink, and the huge amount of money he spent on alcohol sent a clear message. I would like to thank the Centre as well as Justin and Jacque for the good work they are doing and their positive outlook on the world showing that anything is possible through the hands of our saviour Jesus Christ.

Justin and Gareth addressed the pupils of Fourways High School on 19th August 2009.
The school was divided into two groups: Grades 8 and 9 and Grades 10 and 11 .
Both groups responded incredibly well to the talks and seemed to be able to relate to what was being said and remained attentive. Justin and Gareth took it in turns to speak about their lives and experiences and experimentation with drugs. They were open and honest . After the talks Justin and Gareth set time aside to answer learners questions and also made themselves available for the individuals who wanted to speak to them. They were inundated with learners who wanted to talk to them and share their hardships, problems, unhappiness etc with them.
My colleagues and I were most impressed with the way in which the entire process was conducted and would like them to address the school again sometime in the future. Justin has kept in contact with me since then via e-mail . He has given me advice and has offered support to a group of parents who have sons with a dagga problem.
Justin has also been counseling one of our pupils and I have received encouraging feedback from the pupil.
Justin is a dedicated young man who is playing a vital role in the prevention and treatment of drug addiction. I wish him every success and admire his commitment.

God Bless,

Dear Justin

I hearty 'thanks' to you and Bryden for the amazing presentation that you did on drugs, at our school last term.
Our children come from a drug-infested area and it is vital that they be given all the information that they need to be able to make an educated decision when coming face to face with this demon!
You did just this. You gave them the cold , hard facts. You made them realize that it is not the way to go, by showing them how your life was destroyed for so many years!
You made them see reality ! This will be carried with them and I am positive that you will have saved many lives.
It was an incredibly worthwhile talk and I must commend you highly.
We at Robin Hills Primary School wish you everything of the very best in your venture. We hope that you are able to spread your message far and wide.

God bless you all.
Sincerely
Alida Toweel

Hi Justin

Thanks again, it was excellent.

" I have heard many talks and listened to many people speak about their experiences with drugs and how the youth should not get involved. Justin Green has gone above and beyond in terms of drawing attention to the reasons why not to start. His heart comes through immediately as someone who doesn't merely want to summarize his wrong doings and highlight his path to victory, Justin comes across clearly, motivationally and honestly, he speaks through the lies, the half truths and the stories that make you want to 'try it'. I firmly believe that Justin was a turning point for some. He comes with authority on the subject, compassion and with a truth that really makes you feel for the people he has met lost and left behind.

I pray God will grow him and his ministry and trust that, what was intended to kill, God will turn to glorify Him and I trust that He will turn Justin's experiences to good.

Thank you, I know you are another nation changer and world shaper.

Dear MAD 15 September 2009

Parktown Boys’ High School would like to take this opportunity to thank MAD for providing three extremely inspirational talks over the course of the past three weeks.
The talks were centered around real life experiences that drug addicts have had to endure and proved to be very interesting. Justin Green provided a brief history of his life that carried a very real and very eye opening message indeed. The approach that Justin used was unique and hard hitting that kept the learners and staff interested and hanging on every word. His openness and honest accounts of his life brought home the very dark realities of drug addiction. I have no doubt that there was something that everybody could take away with them and be able to fall back on to make the correct choice when the temptation of drug use comes into their lives.
It was a particular pleasure to have Justin with us as he is an Old Boy himself which I have no doubt made it harder for him, but the school commends his strength to come back and share his story with us. I am sure that he has unknowingly changed the possible outcome of a number of learner’s lives by sharing his story with us and for that, Parktown and its community is thankful. For me this was demonstrated by the large number of questions asked by the learners and the large number of boys who approached him after the talk to seek his advice about their personal struggles.
Not only does MAD shed light on the realities of drug addiction, but they also provide an extensive range of services such as rehabilitation placements, personal and family counseling, a chat line and other drug related services which makes it a powerful organization in the fight against drugs.
To everybody at MAD, thank you for doing what you do. It is through organizations such as yours that we can look forward to a brighter South Africa. Through your personal struggles, you are best equipped to intervene and break the cycle of drug addiction amongst our youth today, and in so doing, spare many individuals, families and friends untold amounts of heartache and pain. May you continue to inspire and guide the youth in the right direction for many years to come. God bless.
Parktown Boys’ High School
